ENKA Schools is an IB World School that implements the national curriculum of the Turkish Ministry of Education. All topics and concepts of the national curriculum are explored through the PYP transdisciplinary themes.
On December 9, 2005 the preschool and primary school divisions of ENKA Schools became an authorized IB World School able to offer the IB PYP curriculum. Currently the IB programs are offered at local and international schools in many countries. This community of the IB world schools is expanding daily with more and more schools across the globe beginning to offer these programs. In Turkey, 27 schools, three of which are international schools, have been authorized as IB World Schools able to implement the PYP.
The PYP of the IB is designed for students aged between 3 and 12 years. The program focuses on the development 3-12 year old learners as inquiring individuals in all learning areas in and beyond the classroom. The IB programs aim to educate individuals who possess universal values and have a desire to create a better and more peaceful world. This goal is achieved through the development of the attributes of the IB Learner Profile.
