The Turkish Geography Society and ENKA Schools selected students for the Turkish team and our Social Sciences Department Head, Mesut S\u00fczer, was the leader of Turkish Team, escorting them to the event in Hong Kong.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">Students from more than 40 countries took part in the olympiads, competing in challenges such as written exams, a multi-media exam, and a field test.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">Countries were represented by national teams of four students. Mete H., Murat A., Bur\u00e7in Bahar G. and \u00c7a\u011fan A. represented our country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">During the Olympics, the students had the opportunity to introduce their countries as well as get to know Hong Kong and\u00a0 the other participating countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">We are proud to announce that among the 172 participants, a student from the Turkish team,\u00a0 Mete H., from TED Ankara College, won the bronze medal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">We would like to thank Mr. S\u00fczer and the team for their hard work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may find detailed information about International Geography Olympiads on<\/span><strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.igeo2020.org\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0http:\/\/www.igeo2020.org\/<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000080;\">The olympiads will be organized in Turkey in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 16th International Geography Olympics were held in Hong Kong over the summer between July 30 and August 5 this year.
