MUN (Model United Nations)

[vc_column_text 0=””]Model United Nations (MUN) is a conference where students gain knowledge and experience in the fields of diplomacy and international relations and simulated by students based on the content of United Nations meetings. Through Model United Nations or MUN for short, students learn a lot about international politics and have fun at the same time. These simulations take place at conferences, which are held at the high school and college level all across the world. Students who have attended in their preceding year can participate again as head-delegates and lead their delegations.

We, as the English Department of Enka Technical Schools, believe that MUN (Model United Nations) organizations will provide an effective reference to our students’ worldview, English language development and their international university applications. In recent years, MUN, which is one of the most important events for high school and university students, is believed to be beneficial for our students as a recognized international event. The students who will participate in this organization are selected by a committee of our English department teachers from candidates who will not only meet the criteria for participation in the MUN organization, but will also represent our school successfully and proudly.

In Model United Nations, students step into the shoes of ambassadors from U.N. member states to debate current issues on the set agenda. Students “delegates” in Model United Nations prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and dissidents, resolve conflicts, and intensely navigate the United Nations rules of procedures, as applied in the respective United Nations bodies, all in the interest of mobilizing “international cooperation” to resolve problems that affect almost every country on Earth.

All MUN delegates have to obey these Rules of Procedure, which are a simplified version of those used in the real United Nations conferences. The sessions of the committees will be led by Chairs and Co-Chairs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”30px” bg_type=”bg_color” bg_color_value=”#f5f5f5″][vc_column 0=””]
