ENKA TECHNICAL STUDENTS\u2019 ENTHUSIASM FOR DNA DAY AT GTU<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The DNA Day event, organized by Gebze Technical University Molecular Biology and Genetics Department at GTU Congress and Culture Center on April 25, 2025 was celebrated with scientific talks, interactive experiments, workshops and exhibitions. We attended the event with our school’s 11-D class Chemical Technology Department students.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the scientific talks, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hac\u0131 Ali Mantar, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Head Prof. Dr. Yelda \u00d6zden \u00c7ift\u00e7i, Prof. Dr. Uygar Halis Tazebay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. \u00d6zlem Akkaya, Assoc. Prof. Dr. H\u00fclya Akdemir and Dr. Nil\u00fcfer Akman Do\u011fan provided scientific explanations on important information regarding the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA, the DNA studies conducted and the research towards the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We participated in origami workshops, interactive experiments with our students in the exhibition area, and visited the Sci-Art exhibition. Our student Eymen Kutay Girginer placed second in the competition held at the end of the event and won a 1-year membership in Bilim-Teknik magazine.<\/span><\/p>\n
