We successfully carried out our earthquake drill, which we regularly run every year, on Friday, October 13th within the scope of “October 13th World Disaster Risk Reduction Day” this year. Before the drill, our teachers and students were given the necessary preliminary information. It was assumed that an earthquake occurred during the duration of the bell ringing using the in-building audible announcement system. Employees and students stayed in a drop, cover and hold on position next to a secure object in their environment. After the ringtone (earthquake) was over, students, accompanied by their teachers, came to the assembly area point in the front yard of the school using the appropriate emergency exit doors and class roll call was taken. After the drill, our occupational health and safety specialist gave informative explanations to our students about the importance of these regular drills and the issues to be considered before, during and after the earthquake.
