In our school, students are provided with a program which aims to make autonomous and self-confident learners. Students are not only learning grammar rules and vocabulary which are commonly used but also technological and technical terms. This is necessary for their future education and career.
There are a few interdependent language teaching and language principles reoccurring in the 9th-12th Grades English Curriculum. First of all, English is seen as a lingua franca and international language used in today’s global world. It is the utmost importance to stimulate creative thinking and to use all four skills efficiently both in our classes and outside the school. The teaching program for English has been prepared in line with the general goals of Turkish National Education as defined in the Basic Law of the National Education No. 1739, along with the Main Principles of Turkish National Education.

Our Department engages in several activities and events throughout the academic year. We participate in Enka Youth Forum, which is held every year at our Istanbul campus. Students get a chance to debate about important topics and improve their language skills at this MUN like conference. At our own campus we have 10. and 11. grades debate with each other as well. We participate in MEF Schools German Language activities. Both Technical and Science students prepare for Culture Day and present in front of a crowd about their given country/topic. Towards the end of the year we allocate questionnaires from each department, a set of questions, translate them and ask students in our Quiz Show. At the end of the year we held Language Day, where the English Drama Club shows their talent and presents their school play. Other fun events and musicals are held as well.
