The goal of science education is to interest students in science and in discovering, inquiring, producing solutions, and using technology to develop themselves. The practical training which students receive in our physics, chemistry and biology-genetics laboratories and nature gardens helps them to develop their ability to think analytically and interpret findings, makes their learning more permanent and supports their psycho-motor skills. The Science Department also organises scientific exhibitions, lectures, visits to museums and educational tours in Turkey and abroad. All of these are programmed in accordance with the competencies and abilities of the students. Through project work, the students acquire the ability to make use of scientific research methods and to use academic language.

More generally, such activities increase the self – confidence of the students and give them a sense of accomplishment when a project is completed. Students are also given the chance to keep in touch with national and international scientific developments. Those aiming for a high level of academic achievement can develop themselves further by participating in preparations for the Mathematics and Physics Olympics. In this way, we contribute to bringing up a generation of inquiring minds always eager to develop themselves further.
