In order to encourage high school students to conduct studies in the fields of basic, social and applied science and to direct their studies and to contribute to their scientific development, TUBITAK Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes organizes “High School Students Research Projects Competition”, in the fields of Biology, Geography, Values Education, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, History, Technological Design, Turkish Language and Literature and Software. This year 15.273 projects prepared by 23.528 students from 3.004 institutions applied for the 51st. time coordinated competition.
Project applications were pre-evaluated in 12 regional centers in Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Erzurum, Istanbul Asia, Istanbul Europe, Izmir, Kayseri, Konya, Malatya, Samsun and Van. The students, who had passed the preliminary evaluation among 1,200 projects, participated in the regional competitions between 9-12 March 2020. 216 projects, which had been determined as the finalists in the regional exhibitions, were evaluated face to face and online at the centre in Ankara between 6-8 July 2020 for the final evaluation.
During this period, a total of 28 projects from our school had applied for the competitions. 12 of these projects had been selected for the Istanbul Asia Region exhibition. After the regional evaluations, our 4 projects had received the first and 1 project had got the second prize. Since having been selected the first earlier, out of our 4 projects taking part in Turkey finals, the ones below also managed to place in ranking in Turkey.
