DEPARTMENT OF
In the Department of Chemical Technology, professional staff who can meet the needs of the sector and market conditions and have the necessary professional competence are trained in line with scientific and technological developments.
The main purpose in the Department of Chemical Technology to train qualified people who are taking samples, performing physical and chemical quality controls of the sample, making qualitative, quantitative and instrumental analysis, preparing solutions, performing periodic maintenance and control of the tools and equipment used, reporting the analysis results, have the knowledge and skills of storing classifying chemical substances and chemical wastes, can organize work, think analytically, questioning, invastigating and, evaluative by complying with the occupational health and safety rules.
In our school, Chemistry Laboratory Branch education is given under the Chemistry Technology Department. In our department of Chemical Technology; Basic Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Qualitative Analysis, Quantitative Analysis, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis laboratory courses are given. A maximum of 12 students receive education in our laboratory simultaneusly, and also in our department, there are tools, equipments, devices and chemicals to enable each student to perform all applications individually.

In our department; daily life products such as liquid soap, solid soap, solid wax, gel candle, scented stone, cologne, dish detergent, herbal cream, disinfectant, perfume, clay shaping, bleach, essential oils are produced with our students.
The students thanks to their hands-on training participate in national and international project competitions with the project studies they prepare using the necessary equipment and infrastructure.
In our department, many projects have been carried out in thematic areas such as Biodiversity, Materials and Nanotechnology, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics), Water Literacy, Healthy Nutrition, Sustainable Development, Renewable Energy.

Technical visits are organized to leading manufacturers’ factories in the chemical industry. In this way, information is obtained about the studies in R&D and quality laboratories, anlysis, laboratory equipment, raw materials, products, product efficiency, and internship processes. Some of these trips were made to Çimtaş, Colgate-Palmolive Santa Farma, Cargill, Polisan, Dilovası Organized Industrial Zone Domestic and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In order to contribute to the knowledge and experience of our students on Chemical Technology, technical trips are organized to fairs that promote the world-renowned and leading companies of the chemical industry. Some of these trips were made to Labtek, Chem Eurasia, Turkchem, ChemShow Eurasia, International Food, Nutrition Components, Chemicals and Technologies Exhibition, International pharmaceuticals Ingredients, Raw Materials and Technologies Exhibition.

The students use the knowledge and practical skills they have gained in our chemistry workshops within the framework of scientific study and discipline rules during their summer internships.
Our students can do internship training at Tüpraş İzmit Refinery, Hayat Kimya, İzaydaş, Nuh Cement, DYO, Marshall, Santa Farma, BASF, Henkel, Unilever, Cargill, Aromsa, Aykim, Betek Paint, Bilim Pharmaceuticals, Eczacıbaşı, Kastamonu Entegre, P&G, Tayaş, Aslan Cement, Kroman Çelik, Adel Kalemcilik, Namet Gıda, Pulcra, TSE, Amcor, Evyap, Novartis, Mustafa Nevzat Pharmaceuticals. At the same time, the students who rank among the top three among the department students have the opportunity to have summer internship in Germany.

The students who graduate from the department of Chemical Technology can work in many sectors such as health, food, refinery, petrochemical, tire, cement, paint, detergent, cosmetics, textile ceramics, glass, automotive, metal, mining, energy and agriculture. And also they can create new products and develop technological methods for their production.
