Our internal combustion engine project, which started with the proposal of Mr. Sinan Tara to our students during the visit of our school, was accomplished with the outstanding efforts of our students and teachers. When the idea of the project was issued, a student club was established with students from different classes. Our students visited different companies engaged in engine production, maintenance and repair and learned about the engine’s operating system and general appearance. Design and study analysis were performed using 3D drawing programs. As a result of the analysis, 6061 type aluminum material was considered appropriate in order to minimize the heat generated in the engine body where the pistons are located. Since the technical infrastructure of our school is suitable for production with Computer Controlled Workbenches (CNC), the selected aluminum materials were programmed in CNC Milling benches and manufactured in Machinery Department atelier with machining method. In the last stage, the engine was started by assembling produced parts and adding ignition systems.
