9th International Young Critics Symposium

On 10th-11th of May, 2019, four students from Prep & 11th grade and one teacher from the Turkish Language and Literature attended the 9thInternational Young Critics Symposium at TED Ankara Schools. Our Prep student joined the English Language and Literature session and analysed William Blake’s poems with critical methods. 11th graders joined the Comparative Literature session in which Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Çalıkuşu by Reşat Nuri Güntekin were analysed in terms of themes and imagologies. The goal of this symposium is to improve students’ literary and artistic intelligence, gain a critical approach to literary texts and the skill to exhibit their ideas in front of an audience. The symposium was completed with the manifesto and evaluation presentations.
