The preliminary evaluation results of the 2204-A High School Student Research Projects Competition have been announced. The project titled “Examination of the Light Pollution Problem in Sakarya Province Scale: Light Pollution Measurements and Local Government Activities” prepared by our 10th grade students Elif Duru Kaplan and Begüm Yıldız in the field of physics, has been selected among the projects invited to the Istanbul (Asia) Regional Exhibition after passing the preliminary round of the 55th High School Student Research Projects Competition organized by TÜBİTAK.
In this study, measurements of light pollution were carried out at determined central points in Sakarya province, and the studies conducted by the local government regarding light pollution were presented.
The sensitivity of Elif Duru and Begüm towards environmental issues and their conscious steps in this regard encourage us to look to the future with hope.
We congratulate our students and the supervising teacher who contributed to this success and wish them success at the regional exhibition to be held in our province between March 4-6, 2024.
