Since its foundation, ENKA Pre-school’s education program has been based on the goal to support our students’ cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. In a carefully structured environment, we ensure that the children learn through exploring and research. In this way, we foster their sense of self-respect and self-confidence.
In 2005 our school was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) to offer the Primary Years Program. Since then, we have been proud to a supporter and proponent of the IB. As we mold our education system into the framework of PYP, we continue to improve our education policies and technologies.
English language education is an integral part of our school community and as such, we implement a bilingual program. With age-appropriate pedagogical approaches and a teaching staff who are highly proficient in language learning, we create a curiosity for language in children who are encountering English for the first time and we provide a solid education where they can express themselves in English in their daily lives.
In our Pre-School building, we have a kitchen, lunch area, and three play areas, including an indoor play area. We have an ever-expanding library at our students’ disposal with a wide collection of texts. In addition, we offer physical education, swimming, art, and music lessons with expert instructors.
Our program has a play and inquiry-based structure. Our daily schedule includes indoor and outdoor play times to support children’s social and emotional development. Games are carefully structured by our teaching staff with educational objectives in mind. The use of inquiry based learning is an integral part of our curriculum.
In the words of the English poet, William Wordsworth, “the child is the father of the man”. That is to say, a person is the product of their habits and behaviors developed in childhood. It is therefore our responsibility to place great importance on the role of early childhood education in shaping our future generations.
ENKA Pre-School has a very special place in our school community, since it is the first step our parents and our students take on their eduacational journey at ENKA.
