“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.” –-Max DePree, Author of Leadership Is an Art
Welcome to the new school year! You will notice many changes this year: improvements to campus, new faculty members, new programs, etc. We have introduced differentiated pathways in the high school curriculum. We have significantly increased our university preparatory offerings with full time Takviye Course teachers and TYT-AYT electives. We have expanded our pastoral care initiatives with homeroom in the mornings. We have initiated English pull out programs across a number of grades. There are so many positive improvements to our school this year… which has invariably meant change. And change means disruption to routines.
Change is typically uncomfortable but in order to raise the bar of what we are doing as a school, change is necessary. We thank our community for their patience during this time of growth and we are confident that the forward-thinking changes will help us realize the school’s vision.
STRONG FACULTY
The foundation of an excellent school is an excellent faculty. This year we welcome a number of remarkable educators; you will find an introduction to them all in this issue of ENKA Life.
These new teachers add to our already strong faculty. The composition of our faculty this year is as follows:
-187 Faculty members
-132 Turkish Teachers
-54 International Teachers from 13 countries
-The average years of experience for an ENKA teacher is 15 years.
-The average length of time teaching at ENKA is 7 years.
-Of course 100% of our teachers hold a bachelor’s degree, while 55% also hold a master’s degree, and 4% hold doctorate degrees.
We are confident that this diverse and capable faculty will help us implement our dynamic plans.
