Dreamcatchers Organize a Visually Impaired Football Match

On May 10th the Dreamcatchers Club organized our second annual event– The Sound of Sight– which took place on our school’s football field. Our aim in this community service project is to help Turkey’s Visually Impaired Football Team by supporting them with their needs like covering their transportation costs so they can play a match in another city.

Cevat Köprücübaşı helped us bring together our friends from the federation and our school football players. In order to play under equal conditions, our school team members were blindfolded .This method enabled our students and viewers to empathize with our visually impaired friends.

After the match, to make the day even more memorable, some of our guests took the opportunity to express their intimate feelings about the event which resulted in emotional moments for us all.

After all the speeches we had snacks and it was time to say goodbye to our special guests. They didn’t need to see our smiles even though we could see theirs. However, we know a magical connection was formed on this special day.
