Designs Overcoming Obstacles Competition

Organised by the Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education and aiming to improve the quality of life of individuals with special needs, the ‘Designs Overcoming Barriers Competition’ hosted innovative projects in the 2024-2025 academic year. In this meaningful competition, which took place with the participation of primary, middle and high school students, we were very proud in the high school category!

The ‘Barrier-Free Road’ mobile application project, developed by our prep class students Eylül Üye and Eylül Köroğlu, was designed to enable visually impaired individuals to move around the city more freely and safely. This project, which attracts attention with its artificial intelligence-supported voice assistant, emergency button and GPS-based instant directions, was highly appreciated by the jury. ‘Barrier-Free Road’ was awarded the second prize in the high school category, proving once again the creativity, sensitivity and problem-solving competences of our students.

We congratulate Eylül Üye and Eylül Köroğlu for their impressive achievement and thank Umut Gökçe, their counsellor teacher, who contributed to the development of the project.

We continue to shape the future with innovative ideas together with all our students and educators to increase such projects that overcome barriers in education.
